Drybrush brushes is this the latest news from The Army Painter. Another novelty from The Army Painter, which continues to make available to us lovers of this hobby, new products with which to raise the quality level of every aspect of our technique. Just a few months ago the wet palette was presented, but The Army Painter takes nothing for granted by making available to its customers everything necessary to cover every aspect of this hobby: from the kit for the realization of scenarios to the hand drill, from green stuff to metal marbles to add to the colors to mix them more easily. All at very competitive prices compared to the competition.
Drybrush brushes: Masterclass Drybrush Set
Presented on May 8th, from Friday 29th it will be possible to order the new set of brushes by The Army Painter entirely dedicated to the drybrush technique. These are 3 round brushes with a “ball” tip, called according to their size:
- Miniautre drybrushÂ
- Moderate drybrush
- Mighty drybrush
Curious how all three brushes begin with the “m”, as well as the name of the set, Masterclass. A case? I think more of an attention to the smallest detail by The Army Painter.
Is it something already seen?
The resemblance to the Artis Opus Serie D. Artis Opus is a small startup that has carved out a slice of the market thanks to innovative products and superior quality. Fauxhammer‘s friends have criticized this way of doing The Army Painter a lot, speculating that even the recent wetpalette is at least “inspired” by that of Redgrass Games, another small startup that like Artis Opus have made themselves known thanks to promotional campaigns on Kickstarter. Personally this I think is an old story, even Steve Jobs “copied”, and to protect this way of doing there is a patent. The Army Painter can therefore be accused of plagiarism as much as Artis Opus or Redgrass Games of negligence for not having patented their products (if they have not done so, otherwise we may soon have some news …).
In any case, I think the product targets are very different, as is an iPhone and an Android entry level. And it doesn’t seem to me that Google and Apple are doing badly in terms of sales. The D Series of Artis Opus are 4 high-end brushes, customizable, with case and soap, and have a minimum cost of 68 € plus shipments. In all likelihood, The Army Painter will sell the Masterclass of drybrush brushes at a price between € 15 and € 25. So two different targets.
