Warhammer Quest Cursed City is Games Workshop’s new dungeon crawler, fully unveiled during the preview on February 20th. The presentation focused mainly on the miniatures, but we can make a few more guesses about the game now that a lot more images are available.
What we do know for sure is that it is a cooperative game, which turns out to be a revised version of Blackstone Fortress. After all, the image shown during the preview of the entire game unfolded on the table makes all this quite clear.
And the images also make it clear that in Cursed City there is no miniature related to the scenario, such as bridges, doors, arches or furniture. And this also makes us understand how the rumors of the possible price of € 300, or dollars, which have been rumored in recent days is completely unjustified. Judging by the content, the price should be in line with that of Blackstone Fortress, so around € 125.
What’s in the box of Warhammer Quest Cursed City?
As you probably know, I’m not much of a gamer and these games fascinate me above all for the miniatures to paint. Cursed City features 8 heroes, all from different races: ogres, elves, wizards, vampire hunters, dwarves and knights. I would say that there is plenty of choice! Which one do you prefer?
But for 8 heroes, there are 42 miniatures of characters to slaughter. And here too there is plenty of choice: bats, skeletons and … zombies!
All the miniatures are really beautiful, but the zombies … are a bit “m’eh”, don’t you think? I think we could have done better, I honestly don’t understand the choice of making them all as if they were carrying their own tombstone on their shoulders. It would have made a lot more sense if one or perhaps two had this characteristic, but why all of them? I hope for an explanation from the game setting. We’ll see about it. I think a great job has been done on the skeletons, so I think that mom GW could have churned out something better on zombies.
As I said then, the zombie skeletons and ogres are simply gorgeous! All in all a truly spectacular selection of miniatures. Maybe there would have been a good werewolf …
When is Cursed City coming out?
Warhammer Quest Cursed City doesn’t have a release date yet, but it won’t be long. After all, all the contents of the box are known, as are all the characters. Games Workshop is also known for not releasing previews like this one well in advance of the release date. We just have to wait a little longer!
